MEET MELISSA
Hey there!
I'm the founder of Olive & Neon, an interior design studio in Montreal, Canada.
Since 2017, SketchUp has been my go-to for creating detailed designs and elevating client experiences. Using it daily has been a game-changer for my business, by providing clear visualizations, improving collaborations, and minimizing risks on projects.
Along the way, I've also developed a passion for training others in the same processes and tools that have worked so well for me. That's why I created Maison Juniper and this amazing course - just for you.

"I’m currently attending a live SketchUp course with Melissa, even though I already had some basic knowledge, and I’m so glad I did. The beginner session is perfect for ensuring I have everything covered and am working efficiently.
Melissa’s teaching style is fantastic—she breaks things down logically and calmly, making it a breeze to follow along. She covers the little details and shortcuts that you often miss in self-paced courses, and her assignments are both well-explained and fun. The live format with deadlines is really helping my learning, and Melissa’s patience ensures that everyone in the group stays on track.
This course is ideal for anyone, from total beginners to those with some SketchUp experience. I’m thrilled to be part of such an awesome group!"

"Melissa, I want to thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to learn with you! I have used SketchUp in the past trying my best to learn with online videos but clearly, I wasn’t doing it correctly. After just three classes, I realize that setting up a model with a solid foundation is crucial. Plus, the little ‘’shortcuts’’ I am learning with you make it all worth it.
You are helping me fulfill a wish I never thought could come true and you make me realize - I should have done this sooner.
Learning is so rewarding. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!"

"I am taking the class with Melissa now, and I gotta say, she is an incredible teacher. She lays out the course in a way that builds good habits, and in easy to digest chunks, so I am not feeling overwhelmed.
I am an utter newbie to digital design, and only ever drew by hand, no AutoCAD skills, NOTHING, and now I am already using the skills she has taught us to create plans for current clients, and I am only on course number 3! I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Melissa is amazing, and having the real-life class time means I have to commit to the program, she is there for immediate feedback and questions, and that’s what has made the difference. Highly, highly, highly recommend."

Yes! SketchUp is designed to be very user-friendly and intuitive.
Plus, this course is structured with very small class sizes allowing me to tailor the lessons to the capabilities of the students. There is plenty of explanation and I share my screen during class so you can follow along on your screen.
However, you must have some basic computer knowledge. This includes being able to download software, saving images and using a mouse or trackpad.
All students will need a license to SketchUp Pro, a device with camera and mic, a stable internet connection and we suggest a mouse with three buttons. You may want to use two screens! One for the live classes and one to use the software.
The course will be taught on a PC, however I will point out all of the differences for Mac as I explain each topic. The key differences lie in the menu bars and shortcut keys, but all functions are primarily the same for both.
Prepare to set aside two hours a week for ten weeks, plus weekly assignments to sharpen your skills.
Yes! All the lessons will be recorded and available in the course platform if you have to miss one.
Once the course begins, you'll gain access to an exclusive community page where you can post your questions, and I'll provide answers before the next lesson.
Unfortunately, you cannot get a preview of the course. However, please feel free to contact me with any questions about this course.
While the free version is great for basic modeling, you will need the pro version for this course. If you’re serious about designing, you will need it in the future.
SketchUp Pro offers a 7-day free trial. You may want to download this before committing to this course. Then you can assess if you want to upgrade and join this course.
These things happen, we get it. You can cancel your purchase up to 14 days before the course begins. After that, refunds will no longer be possible.
That said, I'm completely confident that if you put in the work, you will be amazed at all that you can do!
